Exploring the Ethical Constructs of Dental Patients to Guide Dental Ethics Teaching

Objective: To explore the ethical constructs of dental patients to guide teaching. Methodology: A grounded theory approach, inspired by socio-constructivist paradigm was used for data collection. The duration study six months and non-probability, purposive, convenience used. Dental patients, visiting various departments colleges in Lahore, Pakistan, were interviewed their thematic analysis done. Results: Nineteen interviewed. Three themes derived from four hundred sixty-two codes. were: patient constructs, ethics teaching, context. Honesty, good communication respect main patients. also emphasized effective teaching assessment. Finally, religion economic condition two contextual factors affecting constructs. Conclusion: desire honesty, ethics, students. defined context may help curriculum developers contextualize emphasize Religion financial aspect are effecting construct that play key roles.
